Mission Statement

The mission of Youth Media & Communication Initiative includes:

  • Facilitating the expansion of communication infrastructure to children and youth in Nigeria and increasing their access to comprehensive information about their rights.

  • Building the capacity of children and youth to utilize communication resources and increasing their capacity to articulate and critically analyze issues that impact on their lives and the nation.

  • Increasing the participation of children and youth in the promotion of child rights and preparing them to effectively participate in activities aimed at realizing their rights through the media.

  • Building communication capacity in children and youth NGOs and community groups to encourage their full participation in national development.

  • Initiating legislation on issues that affect children and youth.
